AAP will take the accomplishments of Delhi Government to the people :  Gopal Rai

February 09, 2018 06:26 PM

Vikas Yatras across Delhi on Sunday (11th February)

On 14th February, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi Government completes three years in office.  To commemorate this, the AAP will start a campaign to make the citizens aware of the pro-people’s work done by the elected government of Delhi in its tenure so far.

On SUNDAY (11th February), Vikas Yatras will be conducted in each assembly constituency of Delhi and all party MLAs, Ministers and functionaries will meet the citizens of Delhi and share the details of all the good work done by the government in three years.

Speaking at a press conference in the Party’s Delhi Headquarters, the Delhi Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Mr Gopal Rai said, "The AAP government in Delhi completes three years on 14th February. The party is launching a drive to share the accomplishments of the AAP government with the citizens of Delhi on 11th February 2018. In each of the 70 assemblies, the party will conduct a Vikas Yatra which will be led by the party MLAs, Ministers and senior leaders. The aim is to establish a dialogue with the citizens."

He further stated that "In the second phase the party functionaries will meet the citizens of their areas, especially 'booth in-charges' will meet the citizens of their areas and will share all the work done by the Delhi Government. They will also take the feedback of the citizens and convey the same to the government."

"You all maybe aware that there are many state governments run by both the BJP and the INC, but there is not a single state that can show even a fraction of the work done by the AAP government in Delhi. Despite facing many hindrances and deliberate hurdles, the AAP government has kept its focus on delivering the manifesto promises. We have delivered almost on all the commitments made in our election manifesto." he said.

Gopal Rai elucidated some of the hallmark achievements of the AAP government. The AAP government has not only provided round-the-clock electricity but has also dramatically reduced electricity charges, wherein rate for low consumption of below 400 units were slashed by half. By providing free water for those whose consumption is less than 20000 litres the government has not only made water free for the poor, but also saved water consumption.

The work done on education is being lauded universally. There is no other government in India that spends 25% of its budget on education. We have proved to the country that it is possible to have world class standards in government provided education.

The work in health sector has also been revolutionary. Today if a citizen walks into a government hospital but cannot get an expedient date for his or her surgery, than the government pays for the surgery in private hospital. We believe that free and timely healthcare is the right of every citizen of India.

We raised pensions, minimum wages, salaries of anganwaadi workers. We ensure that roads, water pipes and sewer lines reach even the most remote and even the most poorest areas like un-authorized colonies.  This is a government that stands for the last man.

The AAP government is only government in the country that gives Rs.50000 per hectare as compensation for crop damage to farmers.  The work on the CCTV and WiFi installations has also begun.

We are very proud that in the last three years the AAP government has fulfilled almost 90% of the manifesto promises, and it is the only government in India to have done so.
